Stephen King’s CAT’S EYE 1985

40th Anniversary Tribute Poster

LIMITED EDITION AVAILABLE ONLY AT HCG

Released April 12, 1985.

The Absurdity & the Horror. The Cast. The Smoking. The Special Effects. Alan Silvestri’s heavy synth 80s soundtrack. Cat’s Eye is still one of my favourite movies that stands the test of time. Our hero, #General, is magically intertwined in these dangerous worlds. By keeping it more graphic, I can pay homage to my favourite scenes, rooms, ledges, pigeons & Trolls within his silhouette.

Quitters Inc: #JamesWoods at his finest. Trying not to get caught & knowing the dire consequences induces anxiety & builds all of this tension around Alan King’s electric torture chamber.

The Ledge: @robert_hays7 & Kenneth McMillan are amazing together, Flying Shit Houses & all. A tennis pro battling a Trump-esque vindictive gangster is a great hero-villain scenario played out high over the streets of #AtlanticCity

Drew Barrymore is doing triple duty & is completely believable in each role. Such a talent. The way Drew says “smushed” after the big battle has stayed with me since. General’s triumphant battle against the Wall Troll & his epic journey to save the young star make the end sequence that much more special.

Lewis Teague directed The Jewel of the Nile, a Dukes of Hazard reunion & Cujo. I love that they play up all the King titles during the intro sequence. I didn’t know that Stephen King wrote the screenplay at the time!
