MAX AND HIS WOLF SUIT

This painting was a part of my first solo show in Toronto at Omy Gallery back in 2005. It was a tribute to one of my favourite childhood illustrated storybooks Maurice Sendak’s Where The Wild Things Are. I could never get over how comfortable Max was around these giant monsters and wanted to portray how a real kid would react to being in such a scary situation.

The glass is treated like an animation cel. Trace off the line on the front/viewer side and paint the colour fills on the flip side. Painting lights and dark’s first and a layer of carpet is glued to the glass to fill in Max’s Wolf suit.
