RUSH COVER FOR AMAZON/NHL MONDAY NIGHT HOCKEY

September 2025, the band were asked by Amazon Canada to record this famous RUSH track for Monday Night Hockey. I took it upon myself to volunteer my time & resources to make sure that this historical Canadian cover was properly captured. This video is as close to being live as you’re gonna get. Everything you see is what happened at that point in the song. I ran around with the Billy Talent gang (BT-HQ) during they’re last practice before starting drum takes at Revolution. The band ran through the song 5 – 6 times & even got to capture Ben doing ghost vocal tracks. There isn’t much out of sync here. Went to Revolution for drum tracking. Jon’s bass was the next day & Aaron Solowoniuk was able to sit with Ian a few days later to catch him running through the guitar & solo tracks.
Most of the interview material shared was filmed around the recording process.
It took a while to come out due to a Amazon exclusivity clause which meant we weren’t able to share a video on a competing platform. Super stoked to finally share this one. Worked really hard on matching the edit to the music. Something I’m doing more often now is editing to the drum tracks. Making sure all of the hits & riffs were captured was the priority. Ian & the boys worked their asses off but I’ve got to give Loel the win. This was recorded, edited & mixed (By Ian D’Sa & Eric Ratz) within 7 days – start to finish. So crazy.
